Looking at surfaces around london, I am amazed at the intricate marks and pieces of art existing in their own right.
Sometimes graffiti and street art obstinately brands a locale other times it fits seamlessly into the language of its surroundings.
Making these prints involved a different approach from street derived work. No longer content to take photos of crumbling walls adorned with latest graffiti styles
and weathered conditioning, these prints involved tracing the intricate marks both intentionally and incidentally made and using this tracing to make a screenprint.
These prints serve as memory of their derived location.
